12 OCT 2020

BERLIN/LONDON, October 2020 - AAZZUR clients will soon be able to benefit from a world-class international money transfer service thanks to a partnership with global technology company TransferWise.

Berlin-based AAZZUR is building a platform that offers customers everything they expect from a state-of-the-art mobile bank, including live accounts and cards; a personalised and white-labelled customer interface, and the ability to add, aggregate and create shared accounts.

A behavioural trigger engine will also enable clients to analyse transaction data, in a customer-friendly and frictionless way, in order to offer tailored advice and product recommendations, such as foreign exchange, insurance or savings services.

The latest partnership will eventually see the TransferWise API integrated into AAZZUR’s platform. This means customers of AAZZUR’s platform will be able to enjoy the same benefits that eight million TransferWise customers enjoy – sending money at the real exchange rate with transparent, low upfront fees.

TransferWise is building the best way of moving money around the world. For any financial institution around the world, TransferWise’s API is the gateway to access its international money infrastructure and offer their customers a best-in-class experience, with no hidden fees.

“AAZZUR is the fastest and most personalised way to build or monetise banking services. TransferWise is the best and most transparent way to get money from A to B,” says AAZZUR CEO Philipp Buschmann. “Together we are an excellent fit and we are extremely excited about the possibilities ahead.”

Steve Naude, Product Manager at TransferWise said: “We’re excited to bring fast and transparent money transfers to AAZZUR’s clients in the future. Both companies are truly aligned on providing better banking services and establishing a new global standard for international payments.”

TransferWise started when the two founders, Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Käärmann, realised how much money it cost to transfer money between the UK and Estonia. Taavet was based in London but paid in euros; Kristo worked in London but paid a mortgage in Estonia in euros. They each needed what the other had so they figured out a fair way to exchange money between them.

The London-based company now has 14 offices, over 2,200 employees and moves more than £4 billion in cross-border payments a month for over eight million customers, saving customers over £1 billion a year Customers can send money across more than 2,500 routes as well as hold, send and spend money with their multi-currency account.
