AAZZUR celebrates first birthday and enters alpha testing phase
Fintech start-up AAZZUR has celebrated its first birthday and the launch of alpha testing with a party in its home city, Berlin.
AAZZUR is an open banking ecosystem that aggregates accounts and financial services in one application. It officially released the alpha version of its app on October 19, to test basic banking functionality before adding additional financial services.
The company was set up after a late-night discussion between CEO Philipp Buschmann, CFO Martin Damaske and CTO Richard Unger at Philipp’s home in the Vienna Woods. It was here that the idea of AAZZUR was born, with a core team of six living and working together for several months as they sought to develop their concept for a banking app for the future.
The team then relocated to the German capital earlier this year, where AAZZUR took part in the prestigious accelerator programme Techstars Berlin.
Over the last year, Philipp has been invited to speak at a range of major industry events including Finovate, Money 20/20 and MoneyLive. AAZZUR was also just one of eight companies selected to join Poland’s Alior Bank accelerator programme in Warsaw.
To celebrate a successful year, that saw AAZZUR go from incubation to alpha testing, the team threw a party at Selig in Berlin. Nearly 30 people including staff, investors, advisers, friends and family marked the occasion with dinner, a DJ and speeches from Philipp and Martin.
“It’s truly been a pleasure to work with such an amazing team over the last year. We’ve accomplished so much in a short space of time and that’s a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone working with AAZZUR,” said Philipp.
AAZZUR is revolutionizing retail banking by building an innovative ecosystem. To do this, it is looking to work with other fintechs to make the best and newest financial services all available from just one app.
